With the aim of facilitating the booking of medical appointments and accessibility to first line professionals, the Quebec government inaugurated an appointment orchestrator in
April 2022, also known as the Hub.
To visualize the project, the Hub can be seen as a pool where all the appointments made available online by family medicine clinics are sent. It is not in itself a platform on
which patients can search for an appointment, but rather where the availabilities are stored. There must then be appointment portals that connect to this reserve to find and offer
available appointments to patients.
Following the announcement of the creation of the Hub, the Info-Data team decided to develop such an appointment portal, which would connect to this government orchestrator. A
portal of this kind is a large-scale project, but not one to shy away from a challenge, the team of programmers behind the Ofys software set to work to offer their own portal and
help improve access to care.
With the Sofy patient portal already in existence, the creation of Sofy - Rendez-vous Hub was the next logical step. This online booking solution makes all appointments
available
on the Hub accessible to patients.
